Though the figures in that article are sadly outdated, I’ll still point out that unfortunately, over half of all rapes go unreported each year, skewing the other figures in the article. Regardless, no matter how many pregnancies each year are a result of rape, no matter how low that percentage is, NO woman should be denied abortion as an option. Though the article claims that we who are pro-choice simply want to “maintain the right of a woman to kill her own child”, as much as the writers of this article would like to believe that, maintaining a woman’s right to control what happens to her body without the interference of politicians is actually the focus of the term “pro-choice”.
